Name: Halli McCullough
Age: 4
Diagnosis: Leukemia (APL)
Halli suffers from an extremely rare form of leukemia known as APL. She is one of only twelve children in the world with the disease.
Her mother first noticed something was wrong on Halloween of 2004 when Halli broke out in a fever. She immediately took Halli to Wolfson Children’s Hospital. That quick thinking saved Halli’s life. Doctors said if Halli hadn’t been treated she would have bled internally and died.
Doctors began intensive treatments to combat the Leukemia. Halli was able to receive her treatments at home and came in to Wolfson Children’s Hospital for blood work every two weeks. She wasn’t alone, though. Her best friend, Rabby the rabbit was always by her side.
Halli’s last visit to the hospital was in May of 2007. She has beautiful long blonde hair and is enjoying being a little girl.
